An Explanation

I have been a photographer all my life.  Until the arrival of 'digital' there was always a darkroom in my house, where I spent hours redesigning the world in black-and-white.  And almost always my subjects were people--family, friends, strangers--people I would meet and turn into instant models.  I was good at it--I had the knack for putting subjects at ease and bring out a revelation.  But now, in this my first blog, after thousands of images of people, you do not see any people.  You see flowers and insects and birds and things--a reflection how the world looks to me.  This is because I think it is not fair to exhibit to
the curious public images that were 'given' to me in implied confidence--not to mention any legal aspect. It is something that I have to investigate and explore.  In the meanwhile, I hope you will enjoy the images
on this blog and join me in the journey of sharing another view of the world--the world of Bert.
